This website is a passion project aimed at supporting and growing the Twisted Treeline community. Since it's launch I've recieved tonnes of great feedback and have been working hard to implement as many suggestions as possible. However, the sheer volume and scope of all these suggestions far exceeds my capacity to complete them all on a part-time basis.
Keeping the community involved in the development process is very important to me, so this is a summary of my long-term plans. For more detailed and frequent updates you can follow the project on Twitter or join the discussion on Discord.
I work on the site in my free time which varries based on what's going on in my life, so I can't set exact dates for when things will be completed.
In general I've been trying to alternate between working on new features and updating existing ones. So far this system has worked really well so I'll continue using it for the foreseeable future.
Match Page Rework
The Match page is lagging far behind the rest of the site in terms of polish and usefulness.
The current plan is to update the visuals and add more detailed stats and features. Some of these features include pregame lookup for your team, op.gg integration, match history, and champion specific stats.
I also plan on improving they way the page loads data to make it faster and more responsive.
The Complete Guide to Twisted Treeline
This feature is partially complete but was put on hold because I hate writing. I think it is an excellent feature that will be very useful so it should be back at the top of my todo list soon.
The goal is to create a comprehensive guide for new players to reference in order to make their transition from Summoner's Rift as painless as possible. It will contain the following information:
- Descriptions of the various map features along with tips and tactics regarding them.
- Discussion and explanations of the different metas.
- Pregame considerations.
- Role specific strategy and tactics.
- Endgame strategies
I'm trying to keep the guide as general as possible so that it can remain relevant for a long time without any major updates.
Since the site began as a conglomeration of different projects, the code behind it is a bit patchwork. I plan to do a complete overhaul of the old systems. Doing this will make maintenance and future improvements much easier.
This is a massive project and may require starting from scratch.
Up to this point I've avoided having an user system because not having one kept things simple and simplicity helped with user retention.
However there are quite a few features I want to implement that will require such a system so this will be laying the groundwork for future features. At this stage I will just be creating the system and integrating existing features.
Weekly Tournament Hosting
This will be a system similar to the old Go4LoL site where users can create teams and play in auto-generated tournaments. There will be a point and ranking system for teams, and the top teams at the end of the year will be invited to a championship tournament.
I'm really looking forward to tackling this. It's a massive project that may or may not be possible, but I hope it will bring some much needed publicity to Twisted Treeline.
